Rosalyn Long, MSW/LCSW
Rosalyn Long, MSW/LCSW, is a clinical social worker with over 11 years’ experience as a therapist/counselor for individuals and a facilitator of groups. Rosalyn graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2013 with a master’s degree in social work (MSW). Her career began at the Women’s Addiction Treatment Center (WATC), a women’s residential facility for substance use rehabilitation in New Bedford. Her career as a therapist continued at Odonata, an outpatient setting in Wareham for individuals and groups with substance use challenges. Other work experience includes her years facilitating groups and providing therapy for individuals at NORCAP, an outpatient addiction facility in Foxboro. In 2019, Rosalyn began working for Prime Behavioral Health, giving counseling and therapy to the geriatric population in assisted living and skilled-nursing facilities at Wingate in Kingston. She now provides individual psychotherapy via telehealth to clients ages 40 and above.
Rosalyn employs the Rogerian modality of psychotherapy in which the practitioner and client together explore pathways to success according to the client’s knowledge of self. She believes that, through her nonjudgmental approach and cultural sensitivity, people can feel comfortable sharing their most troubling narratives. As loneliness and isolation have reached epidemic proportions, therapy will be an individualized resource to enhance an overall sense of wellbeing. Rosalyn believes that working with a caring, knowledgeable therapist helps people cope with the challenges they face and improves their outlook on life.
